It was a historic day. Just an hour after this beautiful pastel sunrise, the new Surf City Bridge would be opened to pedestrians and later that morning the ribbon cutting ceremony would take place at the crest 65 feet above the water. In the background, a pleasure boat takes a slow stroll under the Swing Bridge, perhaps for the very last time as the aging and iconic bridge was retired later that morning.
